They're estimating almost 2 more feet of snow. Though snowstorms of this magnitude can create chaos and incite anxiety in most everybody (including myself - shoveling sucks), there is still a small kid in me that just wonders how awesome of a snow fort I'm going to build once the winds die down. Tunnels weren't my forte - but I can learn.

    Update on a new record:

Songs are coming along. It's been quite a trip writing some of these tunes because I'm not drawing so much from books or works of art that have inspired me or provoked an idea or sentiment, but from where I've been and things I've experienced first-hand. It's more introspective. One half of the batch is about the horrible turn my life took after Game 6 of the '93 World Series. The other half is about the awesome turn my life took after Game 5 of the '08 World Series. It's a conceptual record. Everything in between was of no consequence.

I just watched Venom in Vegas on Animal Planet. Donald Schultz is the cooolest (Yes! THREE "o"s!) son of gun EVER. Before I forget, I'm making a conscientious effort to curse less - so if you happen to come out to my show at the Tin Angel this Friday night (2/12) w/ Ernie Halter and Joe Firstman, you can witness the swear jar I'll be keeping on stage. Anyway, I got sidetracked by that aside about the awesome show this coming Friday night...let me continue. This dude stayed put for ten days in a glass box while his assistants slowly introduced new snakes (mostly venomous) one day at a time until they maxed out at 100. He barely slept and still managed to talk extensively about each one that came in - including the two nonvenomous ones that bit him. I imagine it's on Animal Planet's website. You need to check out at least a minute or two to see what I mean. Or the full two hours. I recommend the latter because it's AWESOME.

To everyone getting hit by this snowstorm, be careful and just enjoy it.
